Why can some people sing in a foreign language without an accent, but cant speak without an accent?
Ok, this British lady spent a couple of years in Afghanistan, learning Afghan music, she can speak Dari, with an accent, but when she sings its juts like how i would speak or sing , there is no accent.
How does this happen?
This is so true. Consider the Swedish group ABBA, they all speak English with a Swedish accent. Yet the songs they sing in English have no accent at all.
I think the incorrect intonations disappear because singing disguises normal speech inflexions and intonations.
