Learn Cantonese Mp3

Learn Mandarin .?
I decided to learn mandarin. I found out Cantonese is used by less and less people although the parents of my girlfriend speak Cantonese. But she told me even in HK, more and more people start to speak mandarin. She also suggest me to learn mandarin in Beijing because there is no good enough mandarin teachers in UK. Most of mandarin teachers in UK are not professional. They generally immigrated to UK with their husband or married with British people. Because they cannot find formal job position in UK, they decide to make money through teaching Chinese. I do not think they are professional, but I also have no time and money to go to Beijing. How should I do? Maybe e-learning is ok. But I do not think course ware and podcast mp3 is enough, I need to learn conversation, not only listening. I also hope to find an official mandarin school to get a certificate, not small and private one. I found too many private sites or individuals to teach Chinese on Instant messenger. They are not good.
I just like to recommend the school (www.hellomandarin.com) where I am learning Chinese. You can contact a professional study adviser to get help.
You do not need to come to China, you also can learn with school in China. You can join class with teachers in Beijing and practice Chinese with many volunteers.
I suggest you read an article about how to start to learn Chinese. The article is written by my adviser.
Question 2: ‘Do you have a clear level target?’ and ‘Do you hope to learn based on a strict schedule?’
1: strict schedule is unnecessary and have no level target. I just learn for interests.
2: need a strict schedule and a clear target
3: need a flexible schedule and a clear target
My Suggestions:
For 1, you can buy a proper textbook and CD, and then choose self-study. During self-study, you also can download some mp3 from Internet for free because generally you have no a budget for learning. But by now, you just can listen and read Chinese at most, if you also hope to speak some Chinese, you can choose Voice Connecting China to practice with Chinese volunteers and make some Chinese friends. It will be very helpful for you.
For 2, you need to get some help from professional study adviser. You also need a strict study plan (example: 4 classes per week or 6 classes per week), progress track and scheduled level assessment. Self-study generally is impossible for you if you hope to get to a certain targeted level within a planned period unless you are an infant prodigy. You need to choose proper teachers for every level course. After class, help of volunteers is also very important. They can help you to practice more what you learnt in the class. During studying, you should be very clear about your progress and level. Example: after 2 months, which level will I get to? If you fail to get, your adviser will help you to find reason and improve study plan. For 2, classroom training and live class are both qualified.
For 3, you have to choose online live class because you need to decide time of every class separately and you need to adjust class time at any time. Classroom training is impossible. You also need to use Study Plan Designer to adjust your plan very often.
