learn italian in 3 month
I want to learn how to speak italian?

I want to learn how to speak fairly fluent italian in 3 months or less. If anyone knows any good books and tapes to learn from. I don’t want anything really expensive. If it takes a little longer to learn thats okay but I want to be fluent and leartn as fast as possible.
meant learn* i wrote something like leatrn that was a typo.
Haha well as I can see 3 months I wouldn’t be speaking well at all. But I want to learn as fast as possible.

Ciao!

I graduated high school in may and i took two years of Italian to fulfill my foreign language requirements. I took the subject in a classroom setting my sophomore year and had to transfer to another school (in another state) my junior year and that school didn’t offer Italian as a foreign language so I had to find an alternative to continue with the language. I took it through an online school that used Rosetta Stone (which is supposedly the fastests and most efficient way to learn a language).
I must say, however, I learned WAY MORE from the classroom course than I did through Rosetta Stone. With Rosetta Stone, you don’t get the practice of talking with someone who is fluent in the language, so your speaking skills won’t advance to a level where you will be able to hold any sort of decent conversation (you’ll really only be able to read/write it a little bit). The program is costly, as well, and over all, I really don’t recommend it.

Here’s some ideas for what you can do:
-Put an ad out in your local community’s grocery store or something, requesting that someone contact you if they would be able to teach you italian.

-Look to the phone book for anything about tutors in foreign languages.

-Make some phone calls, or visits, to local community colleges or universities (or even high schools) to see if they offer Italian as a foreign language, and get in contact with the instructors who teach it. They may be willing to give you lessons/tutor you.

Whatever you do, find a way to learn the language face to face with someone so that you can speak it, because reading/writing are totally different skills from that of carrying on a conversation in the language. Buy a book at Borders or something too so that you can do some extra research in the language.

It’s a beautiful language and I really enjoyed learning it. It’s relatively easy to learn too as long as you dedicate yourself.

In boca a lupo! (it’s a way of saying “good luck” in italian and translates literally to “in the mouth of the wolf”)
