Whats the best way to learn Italian online or off?
Ok. I am going on a cruise to Italy, basically a cruise in europe, and i wanted to learn italian. 1. i could talk to people there, and 2. i am Italian and i have really been wanting to learn the language. If you could recomend a book or software(other than rosetta stone) or website that you know of, that would be great. Thanks.
That depends on the type of program. In-person immersion programs are generally best, and can be found both in the country of origin and often in your own country. There are online programs that simulate this, to an extent, by focusing on development of conversation abilities. I used Berlitz’s online program to learn Spanish, and absorbed it rapidly due to the online “classroom” environment–the teacher spoke primarily Spanish to students, each lesson was based around a new subject, with which we were to engage in conversation with one another using new vocabulary and grammar. There are likely other programs that offer similar online classes. If you cannot participate in an immersion program or an in-person class with a similar structure, this is your next best bet.
