Im interested in learning russian….?
on a scale of 1-10 how hard is it? I learned spanish really easily, and to me Id say spanish is about a 4 or 5. cuz sometimes the verbs are confusing when your talking about i, he, she, you etc etc….
But anyways….I want to learn another language for when I go into international business and want a little bit more of a challenge than spanish.
holy hell!!!! rosetta stone is expensive….i looked it up thinking oh maybe 100 bucks plus shipping….

Russian is a wonderful language.
First, learn the alphabet. Practice writing it and learn the script and print verions of the Cyrillic alphabet. Then listen to the language. Mkae sure you can place the sound to the letter. Next learn some nouns. After that you can start learning grammar. Russian grammar is very complex. The meaning of the sentence is based on the case of the noun. There are 6 cases in Russian. For example, you would use the instrumental case of a noun to to refer to an instrument that helps to make something. I write with a pencil: Я пишу карандашом.
карандаш= pencil
карандашом= with a pencil
Anyways, I think you will really enjoy this wonderful language. Stick with it. When you speak Russian with natives, they are very understanding and not too picky– they will be glad of your efforts. The mistakes of many foreign speakers of Russian include: where to stress the words (no accent marks in Russian); consonant clusters that do not exist in English; the trilled “r” in Russian; the throaty “h” sound; and difficulty with Russian vowels.
I recommend “Live from Moscow” for learning material. Look on Amazon– it is way cheaper than $549! I started learning Russian with the “Live” series and I speak, read, and write pretty well now.
