Why Not To Learn Japanese

why not to learn japanese
Whats the best way for me to learn to read Japanese?

Well i’ll be honest, the only reason why I’d want to learn Japanese is because of the gaming franchises.
For example i liked the Pokemon Trading card game and they did make a sequel, only it was never translated into english. So i decided that to enjoy my favorite games i’ll have to learn the language.
I also have a soft spot for Manga, not anime though. so thats why i have no interest in learning to speak/understand dialects of the language.
I’ve looked around a bit but all ive found is really long lessons (im a student and i don’t really have that much time on my hands at one point in time, it also means i can’t afford to pay for it :P ) or its just the big word table thing (katana/hikana i think its called) with translations saying that a certain symbol means ‘Oooh’ when there is no point me knowing that those two symbols mean ‘Oohee’ if i don’t know what it means in enlgish.
So can anybody help me out here?

It takes 5 years to learn Japanese, 4 at the least. If your going to learn just so that you can learn to read the game, don’t bother. Also if you don’t have a lot of time on your hands, learning a language isn’t for you.
